Engine swop

Can any boffins out there help. Original engine died. Bought an L series from an MG ZR. Garage stripped it to the block and rebuilt with all the original freelander parts including the timing gear. Now serious lack of power as if turbo not working. Diagnostic test shows no faults but timing out. It also showed turbo boost was ok at 150 kpa (15psi) but actual measured at the Map is 7psi max. Stripped it down myself checked all the timing and had the injector and turbo checked both ok. Rebuilt - still the same. It seems that their is a mismatch between the engines but the experts say not. Any help would be greatly appreciate

Sort the timing issue mate, a tiny amount can really affect the performance of these engines.
Boost sounds a bit low, have you checked your hoses and egr valve for leaks?

I'm just in the finishing thro's of rebuilding it. Timing is spot on but I have found evidence of a leak at the air intake/manifold no gasket had been fitted. Let you know the results tomorrow.
