Engine nicked in Rugby

Long shot, but if someone around Rugby tries selling anyone a 2.25 petrol engine with engine no 36510910 then report to police, had it nicked off my drive last night or today, wasnt anything wrong with it and was planning on selling it on or taking bits off it but too late for that now!

Someone was messing with it all on Friday night, they dragged my 200tdi out and then kicked it over! So I tried putting it in on Saturday and its sat in the bay now. Probably came back with the intent of taking that away and instead cut through the chain holding the old 2.25 to the chassis and walked away with it....

99% sure it'll be at the local metal merchants in the morning but who knows.

T'wasn't me honestly - I've got a bad back and couldn't pick up an engine even if I wanted to and I quite like my old one anyway


Seriously though, will keep my ears open- we get the police coming around the unit on a daily basis so will ask around plus we've got close contacts with a lot of the bad lads in the town

I think you're right with your assumption it was the scrap man. Have you tried visiting the local scrap yards?

Bit of a **** take as if they'd have knocked on I'd have probably said yes take it after I've removed a few bits like starter motor, carb, water pump etc...

Had some coppers round, there's been alot of lead thefts off people's porches in my area apparently, but they think it could be something to do with the dodgy bastards that I had come round to remove my old fiesta...arranged for Truckbusters to come and take it away at 1pm about a month ago, waited in, got to half one I thought where are they? Went to put rubbish out, car has gone?! Drove straight down there, it was sat on a forklift so demanded my money for it. Reckon if I hadn't have seen it in their yard they'd have denied all knowledge

Tempted to put 240v across my lead flashing and see what happens then, probably a dead window cleaner lol
