P38A Eka via nanocom?

Mates in the poo.
Left his lights on, battery deaded, now got messages on his dash. This happened yesterday, 2001 diesel recovered back home now.
His drivers door latch doesn't work but I have nanocom.
He doesnt have the eka but is attempting to get it this afternoon. When he gets it, can I enter it via nanocom and turn off his alarm/immobiliser without issues?
 
You can enter the eka once it's known. Did it unlock via the fob?
It used to only lock/unlock the other 3 doors and tailgate since he's had it(not long). Drivers door locked with the key though.
It is(or was:rolleyes:) going up to les at classic rides tomorrow to sort the keys and non functioning drivers door plus disable the immobiliser whilst it was there.
 
He's got the eka code, foc too.
I'll go round his about 3.30 and attack it.

I've disabled the alarm/siren thank God, jeez their loud!.
Got to the becm menu and got the page to enter the eka code but when I tapped the relevant number(s) the nano beeped but no numbers appeared on the screen and the 'curser' thing wouldn't move on to the next number. Tried the code with both eka disabled and enabled before entering the code with the same result, couldn't enter the code:mad:. Left there now as he had to go back to work for some emergency.
Does anyone know what could be wrong here?
I've got a small window, around 6am to 7am tomorrow morning to have another go at it and if no joy, whip out the becm, engine ecu and he'll have to catch a train to Porthmadog with that lot in a rucksack.
 
Battery isn't low is it? Nanocoms have issues talking to the ecu if the battery's not up to snuff. Talking from experience, here.
 
He's just tried entering the code via the door lock with no joy either but that door has been dead since he got it although the key locked it.
Just had a thought..(dangerous them things) I wonder if its had a replacement becm and the land-rover supplied code is now incorrect?

EKA must be ON in the BECM to enter the code. It's not possible with all BECM's, depends on the firmware level.
 
Tried both ways Keith, no joy.
I felt like that guy " all the gear, no idea":oops:.
It's knocked my confidence in the nanocom and myself too, what with it reporting wrong faulty abs sensors/blend motors and whatever else I'm yet to discover.:(.
Hopefully Les at classic rides will report back that it's nothing I could have done to sort it without specialist gear which he has.My mate only has one key so he's going to get les to sort that out too.
I'll update when I hear more.
 
Can't remember exactly. Key code lockout? Press any button?
No flash of the fob led when inserted in the ignition but flashed when pressing lock/unlock when not in the ignition. Soon as you turned to start or opened any door other than the drivers the alarm went off then the message. Drivers door is totally dead nothing works on it so it doesn't set the alarm off when you open that door only.
