Hi gang, bought my first Land Rover Freelander 2 three weeks ago. Noticed it was very sluggish going up and down the auto gearbox, and on a hill, I'd done better to push it up. Diagnostic says new EGR valve. Any ideas on what this is probably going to cost me? Is it something that should be covered under a warranty?

Yes it should be covered under the warranty. It may just need cleaned but best to talk to the seller first.

Thanks for the replies, I'm going to phone the dealership tomorrow, then the warranty people, then go back to my local garage and book it in one way or the other. Just a bit miffed about having to lay out after only having it a couple of weeks. Hope this isn't a sign f things to come. I'm pretty certain its covered under the warranty, but they love to squirm out of paying if at all possible.

Don't be too disheartened with it. All cars have problems from time to time. It could be a simple fix easily sorted.

Think your self lucky:) just done mine on my Renault master Motorhome £350 for the part and two days to replace it, in comparison the freelander is a pussycat to do and much cheaper,
