First off high to everyone on this great informative forum. Was wondering if anyone could shed some light on a problem with my rangie. Bought two weeks ago travelled home from blackpool down to essex no problems parked up for two days went out in her got 5 miles up the road "EAS FAULT SLOW 35 MPH MAX" on the bump stops, took it lr agents reset ecu using testbook, compressor not working at all got it running using testbook and said it was not pumping enough air and possibly ecu or compressor faulty. So second hand compressor and ecu of car heard running and susspension worked ok, replaced seal in compressor anyway, put both on car compressor pumped for about 2 seconds then stopped, back to lr agent who reset and cleared height faults due to new ecu compressor works from testbook but not from vehicle electrics. Now i know a bit about wiring looms and stuff but this has me puzzled, delay relay is getting power from becm, ecu is getting power from relay, ecu pin 8 is not getting any power from relay RL20 removed relay and power is at relay socket but not switching to tell ecu to power up compressor. Also passenger door has no electrical power getting to it what so ever have removed the latch and powered up the outstation remotly so the becm thinks the door is closed still no compressor running, no power window door lock or mirror working on passenger door, have checked the connector in footwell seems ok power getting to that from delay relay, checked all power connections to becm and all working ok as are ground connections. please any help here would be much much appreciated.
many thanks

just a thought but are you having problems with the passanger door. As I understand it if the BECM thinks a door is open then it will not run the compressor to pick the rangie up.

Might be worth trying to sort the problem with the door first.

Hi P38 owner brings back many memories of the past three years owning a P38 myself (now sold). But i too had probs with various BECM related faults, but cleared the lot several times by simply removing the fuse box all connectors etc reconnecting and away it would go.To this day nothing was ever found or flagged up any fault on the test book etc.Hope this might help Nick .

hi thanks for the reply i have managed to get the becm to think the door is closed by operating the microswitch, have found that relay 20 is not supplying power to pin 8 on the ecu, there is no output from the relay, substituted it with the abs relay and still nothing removed fuse box and checked connections resoldered all terminals in fuse box still nothing, have not got a scooby doo whats going on now, am going to change the pressure switch on valve body as i understand that if it gets stuck then it wont tell the compressor (i.e relay) to turn on, only thing i can think of now apart from changing becm, but dont think that becm is at fault. Checked output from becm going to door outstation and 12v leaving and getting to door plug, as soon as you plug it in to outstation it drops to 1.9v not quite right, put door station on drivers side and works everything i.e window, locking motor, mirror, so can assume outstation is working ok but why the huge drop in voltage once pluged in ? any ideas would be much appreciated.
again many many thanks to all you guys
