Check the technical archive, I'm sure someone did a how to.

Thanks for the quick replies jus finished work so will try have a look at it in the morning can the regulator tip over then and I've so I may just be able to do a temp repair

Found ur how to saint looks like I may even be able to remove the door card myself and get a temp fix till I can get a new regular cheers hope all ok with the new edition to the family

Probably a spot weld holding the regulator to the door has broken. Drill it out and put a nut and bolt with lockwashers in

Cheers for all the advice had 3 rivets broke and one of the running bars bent and the blue plastic bit that it goes in missing replaced the rivets with nut and bolts managed to straighten the bar enough to shut the window for now beating the rain will replace the blue plastic thing tomorrow I hope went to a place near manston airport right helpful chap and plenty of P38 spares

Just a thanks to saint v8 and tomcat doorcard off easy and window all done now managed to straighten the bar with a bit of heat on it and fit new blue plastic slider job done

Also something else to check - Even though this is sorted at the moment...

The rubber guide right at the front of the door (internally) can come loose, or get kinked - which puts more pressure on the glass as it goes up (generally about half way up where the scissors on the regulator are in line with each other). I've seen it a few times where the window has got half way up and the activated the anti trap and gone back down again, or managed to keep going (though you can hear the motor struggle!), all because of the rubber channel that the glass fits in is twisted/falling out. It is also amazing how much horizontal flex there is in the regulator as the scissor arms get to the mid-way point if the window glass catches at all.

I've fixed a few for people where the rubber channel has either fallen out or been causing the glass to slow down about half way up by removing the rubber strip, cleaning it, smearing a bit of silicone grease on the internal part the edge of the glass runs in, and then refitting.

It is quite a way down inside the door at the front - but does make a noticeable difference. Can be accessed with the door card off, window up. Don't need to remove regulator or anything.

Just another thought in case you or anyone else has issues. I can imagine if the glass strains on the way up about the half way point, then the pressure exerted on the regulator, and the rivets etc is quite a lot!

Mine was the rivet had broken, I just put another one on, or a nut and bolt will fix it too
