For reasons I cannot explain I bought a 109” Series 3 van body. Running a P38 and having a 110 CSW in the garage is not enough. It was local (someone off ear) which looking back was the positive. Oh, and it’s red for now.
The thing is reasonably solid underneath with the previous owner having done the body off welding, new tank, new springs/suspension, new brakes. Toying with a history check as its ex MOD 79-91 to see what it was, interior and engine bay OD green. This is it today with a defender grill balanced on the nose for reference and my edited photo to see what red van sides look like. I put some Series steel wheels in for shot blasting and powder coating yesterday so they go on 600x16s tyres idc.
Other idiosyncrasies being the stage one front end, doosel implant (which is leaking from every orifice) the artexed roof lining (wtf) Defender radiator, and front doors. Hopefully I can get this on the road sooner than later (it runs, it drives and is tax and mot free, for now black plates to follow) so I can crush the P38 and use this for the shooting season. Ideally I can get the CSW finished and gift this to my daughter for her gundog training pursuits. Best open up a line of funding for parts, extension of the garage or the psychiatrists chez lounge.
My name is Doriz, and I’m a (phooking idiot) LR addict.
So, today I could do some gardening, maybe some DIY or I could do some Seies 3 bomb disposal ie cut the red wire. What looked like a simple follow the wiring diagram is looking more in depth. I chased what I thought was the alternator wire for the dash to find it connected to the coolant temp sensor. I’m considering a new engine forward loom now.
