Our IP67-rated toys could be submerged in 1 metre of water for 30mins to meet the IP67 tech-spec. IP68 was same time and depth, but PRESSURISED at that depth. We considered modifying ours by using Goretex Membrane, but deemed unecessary by our customers.
Don't know how many IP65 products on the internet get away with being advertised as "waterPROOF" these days! But then again, I'm not the ASA if they're still around!
That sounds right. My front camera purported to be waterproof and IP something or other. First river I went through (about a month after buying and fitting it) and it blue-screened. Still, at least I knew I had exceeded the recommended wading depth. It did recover about 6 months later.
