diff lock not working

After getting stuck in the snow last night (luckyly just up from my house so left it and dug it out this morning) i found my diff lock doesnt work

lever engages as normal but only one wheel per axle was turning in high and low range

300 tdi disco any ideas ?

If one wheel per axle was spinning, then all is good.
It's a centre diff, the diffs on the axles are still open.

Every days a school day ,thats a shame as i felt it would of dragged itself out of the snow drift if all four wheels had been turning

That's where adding a locking axle diff at the rear can help. Like ARB or Detroit trutrack.

more speed would of helped i think its snowing again so if the wind picks up might get another shot at it !
