Sorry if I've posted in the wrong bit. - My Ex-Military 1994 110 Defender 2.5 Non Turbo diesel seems to have a cutting out problem. It starts fine and runs sweet, however when driving there seems to be a lack of power (2.5 N/A joke aside) there has been a noticeable reduction in acceleration. Oddly on slowing to change down a gear it cuts out, approaching a bend as I turn into the bend it cuts out, on a slight incline it cuts out, but not always. Once cut out it takes several attempts turning over till it fires up. I am thinking fuel starvation, it's the intermitant bit that has me stumped. Any thoughts?

One other thing you might want to have a look at (given the fact it goes to hell on hills) is the pickup tube at the tank. Also, look for the bits that will be flexing in body movement - the feeds from the tank to the filter for feed (don;t think the spill rail would cause such issues).

There aren't that many connections there to check.

Also, have you ever serviced the sedimented at the rear end? Might be the damn thing is full of garbage and inclining the vehicle certain ways pours more crap into the line. I've seen crazier things...

OIf course, someone will be along to tell me I'm full of it even though I own one, but hey' it's what it is...
