i got a new starter on its way!! only a half hour roadside job to change!! see how it goes with that, if its still poor then i'll start looking at the contacts in the fusebox!!

when it cranks it feels like when you get compression on a single cylinder engine!! if that makes any sense.

i'll check the leads and connections once the new starter comes!! ive just aquired a bar in case it gets stuck again!!

well i finally sorted the starter!! the main terminal was loose inside the solenoid!!

swapped it out for the replacement, works a treat!!

incidently i didnt set any of the windows or sunroof before putting the eka code in!!! and obviously it works!!!

so there ya go job done and it only took an hour to do at the roadside!!! fiddly little fecker tho!!!

best bit was i couldnt start it to get it on the ramps, and the suspension had gone down a little!!

either that or i'm a fatty these days but it was arkward to wriggle under!!

then having to wrap your hands all around the bloody engine to feel the hex cap and get the allen key in!! 3 short extensions to get ratchet in a place where i could get some leverage on it!!

my little un helped tho passing me stuff so i didnt have to come from inder the car!!

I had a similar problem on a Volvo we had - The battery tested OK but wasn't charging enough. Deduced the alternator was at fault and took it to an Auto Electrical company to get fully tested and fixed. Turns out it was the crimp +ve battery terminal causing a voltage drop when charging and also obviously when starting. They cut it off and put a new one on and no problems since. As it looked OK, it wasn't something you thought about about. Just shows to check absolutely everything, even things you're convinced wouldn't cause a problem.
