P38A Crankshaft position sensor

Hi All,

I'm swapping out my crankshaft sensor later today, anyone got any tips / things to look out for?

I've had a look on rave, and searched the forums and it seems like I'll find it on the opposite side of the bell housing from the starter motor under a heat shield.

The main embuggerance appears to be getting to where it plugs in (on my post 99 model it seems it plugs in somewhere near the back of the rocker cover)

Since I'll be doing this lying on my back in the snow, any tips to speed the process up would be gratefully received!

on mine 1996 4.6 they dont have cover on,i found on mine it was easier to take wheel off and inner mud guard ,i could see it easier and use socket .i have done it from under side with a lot of frustration?
