Hi just want some advise I’m currently changing the damper pulley on my fl1 td4 2004 the new bolt I have is approx 1.5-2 inches shorter than the original I know they are a Stretch bolts slightly but is it possible I have been sold the incorrect bolt? It does tighten up but I worry it doesn’t screw deep enough into the crank shaft

Sounds wrong to me. Knowing the cast crankshaft I would think that spreading the load correctly is essential.

Pop it back and change it.

Are you using Corteco crank pulley because they should come with the correct bolt and washer.

There are two lengths of bolts so you need to know the length of the one taken out.
