If I fully depress my clutch pedal then engage gear, the drive is taken up after the pedal has been released about an inch or so.

Is this ok or is it time for a new clutch ! not really noticed any slipping, but not 100% sure.

Its a 1999 XEDi 5 door - anyone any idea of the cost of fitting a new clutch to this and more importantly can anyone recomend someone to do it.

Im in Standish, near Wigan, Lancs

thanks

Thanks for the reply Mondo

One less thing to worry about !!

Just need to investigate the castellation on my rear tyres now !!!

While your here, is there any simple way of getting a little more poke out of the 2 litre TD ??

cheers

Chris

Will do Mondo

Just been reading up on the Tyre castellation thing and it seems the tyres I have are the worst culprit !! Goodyear Wranglers

Try to do a search on Roverron for this question.

Did 56.000 kms with my Wranglers and now changed to BFGoodrich Macadam, giving a much softer and quiter ride and according to the guy who put them on I'm going to do half the distance more than I did with the Wranglers. (should be some 75.000 kms, or possibly the last change in the Hippo's lifetime).

Yes, the Hippo now has 6 years, another 75.000 kms will make it 8 (or more) years older, so ...... (also the driver not getting any younger you know, received last week my card for free rides on all buses, trams and metros all over Belgium, with that card also a trainfare costs me only 4 Euros for a back/forth ticket from any station to any other station in Belgium. Such cards are given to allBelgian citizens the moment they are 65 old).:(

And I honestly thought you were a wise man ming ?? (Notice the subtile difference in not using the phrasing 'wise guy' .....:D :D :D )

Seeing such a stupid suggestion from you 1. really surprises me and 2. seems unbelievable it came from you. As said in another thread, the Hippo far too amusing to get rid of it.
