As per title, hit a fecking partridge at speed today, no way to avoid it unfortunately.
So not only am I a murderer :(:( the stupid thing struck right in the center of the rad grill, grill now split top to bottom and one spotlight gone west. No other damage fortunately, but still not a happy bunny.
Anyone got the faintest clue where I might get a replacement grill please, I really do want to replace like for like but just can't find anything on the net. I guess they might have been made by/for a styling company, but my searches have found diddly squat.
Ignore the old LR badge in the middle, thats just a little joke.

Bit of a Marmite design item, not seen one like it before. You could always fall back on an original spec. component.

I'm thinking it would be within my excess, and insurance likely to say DIY it. There would still be the problem of sourcing a replacement.

An original spec one would be simple enough, but I quite like the facts 1/. it's a bit different to the norm, and 2/. the spots in the grill are less prone to be nicked/damaged. Well summat wrong with that statement, but I likes em like that.

Bit dear, but I shall make an offer and see where it gets me.
So far the important thing is that that link has given me a description to search under.

I've had a few spotlight grills in the past, recently sold two for £80 each. Not worth anywhere near £300 for the one on eBay.
They do come up from time to time. Due to their age the lights tend to be corroded but I believe triumph stag headlights will fit.
If I were you I'd put a normal grill on it and keep an eye out for a spotlight grill at a sensible price.
 
He is selling them with the spots, but its still not £300 worth, saying that I have sold wiper motors for (singe) £200, and Landy Series badges for £300 each (from S.Africa)
 
Very many thanks for all the help guys, after a very busy weekend (totally lost Sunday after a darts/drinking marathon that finished 5.00 AM :confused::confused::confused: ) I got round to having another look at it today.
The upshot is that I took it round to my mate who is a body repair guru, and he is going to weld/rivet the grill back together for me. When done it will look like new for a fraction of the price. Fortunately I have all the bits. I will post some piccies of the repair in time, he's busy with an MGB at the mo so in a couple of weeks.

Well, my mate finally had some time to spare for me, so went round for him to fix the rad grill.
As it happens it were a piece of pee, he showed me how to do the first couple of fixings and then left me to it.
This is the bit of kit we used, he said it cost him around £300 but will solidly fix most plastic repairs.

The business end, two heated prongs that take a stainless wire, melts it into the plastic and then snipped off and sanded back.

Spacing them out about 5mm apart, it is actually quite a quick process, just need to take care not to melt your way through to the front face.

And that's it, job done in about 30 mins, you can see where the staples have been sanded back on the very bottom of the grill.
What a marvelous bit of kit, had me thinking that someone could make some money repairing bumpers and trim, while we had the kit out he repaired a long split in a fridge tray, OK you could see it but I don't suppose the packs of cheese were worried about it.
