FFS. Afternoon ex bollocks.:p

It was busy, but since the council haven't bothered gritting any roads other than the main roads I am currently sat surfing the net until they get it done.:D

duz that mean - yu only recover from gritted roads?

[smile] wimp [/smile]

try using yer screenwash while its there though
Hello Boydy.
This is getting out of control, peeps throwing insults and the sexual implications, and I'm still none the wiser.

The vortex at the screen base would be altered and moved up the screen, praps a good thing?
maybe a perspex deflector on the leading edge of the bonnet would cause any rain and bugs to cruise over the roof ona cushion of turbulent air and keep the spare clean and dry?

need a College person to work it out , hows yer fixed.:)

it could do, could do.

Or you could jus put it on a wheel carrier... :)

Did you say you had one that you have to get out and open the back door from the outside with?

If you swap it i may be interested in your current one.

TBH im not convinced at all about bonnet mounted spares, i rekon its too much weight and would get in the way too much.

Gotta plan - gonna take up the carpet in my lounge n put it on my bonnet n put my spare on it (scuse me "hood"). Seriously tho u will make ur own mind up where u stick ur spare wheel wontcha??

OK Sorry. Have gone back thru the fred but cant see any sexual innuendo. But I stand by wot I said - the only person that can decide where to put the spare is the driver ennit? U just gotta try it...........
Anyway my lounge carpet is still available if u want it.........

Was referin to Storm99's sister in law and how she prefered bonnet mounting to swing away at the rear.
Still not decided myself, just have to try it I suppose, tis a little exposed up there on the bonnet.
Carpet? no burns I hope:)

When I get it out of the shed I'll have it on the hood and see if I like it, not keen on it hanging on to the rear though and the roof rack? ....mile high club?

Been discussed before I'm sure but being new to Land Rovers I thought I could do with some advice.

I've asked around about the pros and cons of mounting the spare on the bonnet/hood and views are about 50/50

I think it looks better on the bonnet/hood on a 110 than on the back door, it makes access to the back easier as well cause I've got a swing away carrier and its a pain having to get out and open the back door to let dorris out.

The spare is a 235 so a bit thicker than normal/standard tyres.
My friend with his 90 says it's Ok as you just get used to it, so which way to go?

I would put bonnet straps on and gas struts to aid opening the bonnet as it's a regular sort of daily thing with a Land Rover I'm told:D

I think you might find its illegal on the public highway unless an original fitment for that vehicle. Most people may turn a blind eye but if you injured somebody with it (can fly off in accidents etc) your insurance may not pay:(

What about a roof rack then? Cant see it being illegal if its bolted down.(like a roof rack)
My insurance wouldn't pay up anyway, they would find some excuse like the lpg isn't certified or the wheels are wrong, or it's got a different transfer box or you didn't declare the furry dice, or is that towbar a factory fitment or it's got a gay silver grill, or (sharp intake of breath) you've got a sports steering wheel.....

any one got any more ??

Tee hee.
Was thinking along similar lines tho............
Was meaning that a roof rack isnt a standard fitting and that dosen't invalidate your insurance.
Sorry to confuse you, not explained it very well:eek:

I'm goin ta try it after the MOT cause me mot man is about 5 foot 3in:eek::D
