everytime i go offroad thru puddles (deep ones) and i get home my drivers mat is soaked i have looked and it seems to come in at the bottom lefthand side of the drivers door and runs along the seat box and then under the mat the rubber seals dont look too bad but obviously they cant be? can i just silicone the joint between the bottom seal and the upstand door seal or is this just a weak joint and a common problem

Found this a while ago, interesting to read i thought.

... It won't let me upload it, the PDF is too large... But it is a complete manual for LR engineers that explains how to stop leaks all over the Landy, and its pretty complete. Anyone know how I can send it to this forum? Or PM me if you want a copy

another option would be to get yourself a 2" lift. Not the cheapest option but does allow you to do deeper wading without taking water on.

No, it allows you to go in 2" deeper water and get the same amount of water in.

Our 57 Defender leaks like a sieve, as bad as my Ser III!

haha maybe on to something there!! An amphibious Landy!!

If you could get some kind of inflatable skirt that you could fill up of an onboard compressor!

Im sure a rudder wouldnt be to difficult! and swampers bogger tyres might just propel you along!!

Anyway, back to reality!!

NO YOU CANT!!!

Present drive is a 2005 hard top first land rover i have owned ( it leeks) driven a few in the past they all let in water somewhere.

I have the same problem (as the original fred!) and the water is coming in where the handbrake goes out, but only when i go through puddles on the drivers side - i guess that's how the water is thrown up! I gorra right drenching in some floods the other week, then i had to go into a sensible posh meeting wet from the knees down!
