Maybe its had an engine already?
He said it was T reg, doesn't mean its 99my, like I said mine was a T reg before re-registration and is a 98my.
common rail are you sureapologies, I was just trying to make out whether he has a 98my or 99my. I just see where he siad it was a 1999 T but he hasn't come back witha chassis prefix to confirm.
I've heard that said before about post 99 being a different pump, where is that info coming from? There's nothing in RAVE about that, The Petrol system changed completely in 99 but to the best of my knowledge the Diesel pump didn't.
This is the same case with the report that the omega engine had 160bhp when it didn't, There was a late edition with a common rail diesel with 148bhp but the normal TD version that is interchangeable with the P38 had 130bhp.
Sorry Lads been away at the weeknd and just read the posts. Chassis number is SALLPAMW7WA******What is the model code (part of your VIN the two-letters before the last six numbers) WA?
Just looked at the photo you mentioned. Mine definately doesn't have and EGR. The pipe comes off the intercooler and straight into the manifold.W7WA = 2.5L BMW Engine (W), 5 speed manual RHD (7), 98 model year(W), made in Solihull (A)
So the log book is wrong (thats if the logbook and Chassis no. match .
Could you take a photo of the engine bay for us to have a look.
If you look at the photo the guy with the 3 series BMW posted yesterday you'll see the EGR valve on the rad end of the manifold. Maybe someone removed your EGR, I'd be interested to see how they managed it.
That was my initial thought, more like black soot though. Seems alot better sinse the breather pipe was sorted out, although this doesn't seem like an obvious reason for the cause of the smoke. It's a diesel....isnt it supposed to pour out black smoke?
