is there anybody on here that is running there freelander (L-series) on proper biodiesel, now im not talking about homebrew stuff or straight or used veggie oil, im talking british standard stuff! if there is, are there any issues, apart from the usual filter changes!

i've searched and searched, and only seem to come up with results for the td4, including veggie gaylanders posts, i cant find anything about the L-series!!

If your talking the stuff you can buy at filling stations then you shouldn't have any problems it's only when you get a dodgy home mix you could experience problems or so I have read on a few threads. I have a freebie L just started running it off Veg oil as when I looked into Bio it worked out more expensive.. have a read of the following website it lists filling stations just give them a call and see how much they are charging..
Welcome to Biodiesel Filling Stations

Running my L series on SVO 85/15 veg/dino with no probs so bio should be no problem as this has been treated to remove anything that would cause poblems.

yeah im talking filling station stuff, and i can get it at 87ppl, so definately worth doing in my opinion, cheers guys!:)

Been running my Freelander XEDI (1998) L Series on 100 Biodiesel for past 18 months. No real problems apart from filter change and the fact that my petrol station near Elland keeps pushing price up was paying 87.9p and now he expects me to pay 1.20 a litre, now who's making profit!!!!

Only issue I have is a slight reluctance to start in the winter months nice big puff of smoke once she gets going!!!!

Anyone know of a cheap Biodiesel supplier in and around west yorkshire?

Regards

Jonah

do you not have oil fuelled central heating?:) as bio can be bought for that you know, and duty doesnt get paid on heater fuel!
