Disco 2 BCU & Cabin Fusebox Removal

I’m still occasionally having issues with starting my disco. I’m going to remove the BCU and fusebox, but what is involved in this. Is there anything I need to be aware of before I start ??

Havnt personally removed the bcu but can't imagine it being too hard.
As for the internal fuse box, Disconnect battery, then I think there's one bolt on the top of fuse box (10mm socket?) then pull it out and disconnect all the plugs. They can only go back in one way so you won't get them mixed up. Bit awkward if you have big hands as the wires arn't long enough to pull the fusebox out where you would like it. There is a youtube video of the removal which is helpful

Yes, very important thing is to disconnect the battery negative lead before you unplug the IDM(interior fusebox) or BCU then after the reconnection turn ignition on 2 and let it so 5 minutes before you do anything else as the BCU and IDM to regain digital data comms to manage the immobiliser. Also if you want to replace the fusebox to rule it out which would be the first thing to do cos it's plug and play you need one removed from the same type(facelift or not) while the BCU is not plug an play, it needs complex programming with nanocom or similar.

Thanks. That’s great information. Especially the wait 5 mins. I am trying to solve my central locking, Immobiliser, alarm issue I have had for sometime. I have reset these with Nanocom and lock the doors with the key in the door, but occasionally it goes into alarm immobiliser mode and I need to use the EKA. I also tried a new RF receiver to no avail. I had water ingress in the passenger footwell a few years ago, and I’m hoping to see something obvious on the BCU terminals.

it's not my invention but in the WsM and missing that can cause trouble, i've learned it the hard way then i decided to RTFM before i try to fix things myself ;)
