Nope.If you have NAV already, you will need an exrension cable that will need routing to the BM54 unit in the back. The shape is almost but slightly wrong and the fixing wont be in the right place.

I'm not looking to use the sat nav that is already in the car as it is pretty poor, that is the reason i was looking to upgrade to an android unit, i also would like dab digital radio, if you know of a head unit around the same price as the one i linked to, could you let me know what one it is, there was someone on here that has done it using a unit from erisin but i can't find his thread, he basically removed everything, Head unit, cd changer and the sat nav drive in the boot

Hey,

I had the same idea to do it to my car as I want something that takes AV input to plug the bumper cameras in to have a view.
Apparently you have to cut the dash a lil bit to get it in.

Here is a video.

You could opt in for a genuine unit from a newer year but I don't fully know what the requirement would be to fit it.

Newer touchscreen unit will not work with the earlier vehicles...the new system runs on the MOST network which the 2002-2005 models don't have.

Best option is to upgrade the sat nav unit in the boot to the DVD based Mk4 unit....vast improvement...check out my threads for when I changed mine over!

Yeah you need the guts from the rest. Is that one touch screen tho? 2007 model.

I am still picking up the pieces of my wallet from the gearbox failure so ICE will have to wait. :)

To see just what's involved with this conversion, look for a thread by Bbsguy in Rangeriver net called " ultimate infotainment upgrade" if that don't put you off nothing will.
While your reaserching , look for NBT retro fit. A much better solution., and you keep all your on board features

Can anyone tell me if this fits as a direct replacement for the head unit

I have fitted that unit into mine, it comes in different versions with more or less functionality depending on price.
It was a major job as it replaces much of what is in the left hand side of the boot.
I got the digital TV module with it too. I had to remove the DSP amp and hard wire in the speakers, the sound quality is excellent so no issue there. I did have to put my own glass mount aerials in as the on board ones wouldn't work properly. There was a unit that came with mine that allows the steering wheel functions to work too. My car is a 2003 V8 Vogue, the fit is perfect and it looks factory when finished - there was a little hacking of the inside of the dash to fit it, but none to the visible parts of the dash and facias.
