Removed rear one air bag : it was not seated correctly and I was getting small air loss.
On refitting ( Dunlops) I find that I am unable to get the top of the bag far enough up through the opening to get the pin through : we are talking 1-2mm. I am on my own and so far have tried forcing it up with a lever but proves difficult to raise and insert pin at same time.
I am presently trying to insert blocks under the bottom end to keep it up while I get the pin in.....gave up as cold & fed up !
I have a feeling that the top seat may be slightly distorted but can't be sure yet.
I wouldn't think I'm the only one to have had this prob.
Any advice/tips/hints.
Help appreciated as always.

Best tackled with a fresh mind the next day. Probably the cold not allowing the bag to flex as much especially as it's new but how is the car jacked up? If you have a jack under the body and one under the axle gently raise the axle one. Or how about putting the top end in first and pulling down?

Thanks Blenheim : I've got one trolley jack under the chassis member and I have another one available which at the moment I have under the suspension arm : I didn't want to force it with that one in case I took the sensor beyond its travel but I might just risk it.
Can't guarantee mind will be in any better state tomorrow !
Are you in town in Perth ?
Just a mention that I've got a multi vehicle faultmate ( don't have all the licences for all systems but getting there) : also have Datateks cable and software for the EAS

It's a bit difficult to be much use on this one. It could be;
did you get all of the old bag out
corrosion left if the old bag was an ally capped one
a bit of the old pin still in
a lip or burr if you had to lever the old one out

Sorry mate but it's one of them jobs, and as I can't say, "Get out of there and let me have a go," all that I can say is - better luck tomorrow.

Make sure the seat is clean, obviously it is not. Clean any rust scale out of the seat. When you are happy with that i would stick a little paint in there. Then fit the bag line it up and inflate it. That should push it into the seat. It has to have some air in it before you lower car anyway.

Looking at it again it's possible it's had a bit of force used in the past but I suspect that the advice about cleaning the seat effectively will do the job.
Inflating might also do the biz.
Thanks guys : I think I was just needing abit of sympathy :(

Thought as much, and it's a lot worse when your fingers have turned to frozen fish fingers.

:D
