Hi

I'm picking up a new to me 02 discovery es this week and I have a few questions I hope you can answer for me.

First off the rear electric sunroof does not open/close, front one does any ideas?

Head light washers don't seem to work, is there a seperate water bottle to the windscreen for these as it could just be empty?

No rear headphone sockets for the rear passengers, how easy is it to install some?

Also no rear step fitted, is it possible to fit one?

And last one for now, radio has sat nav but i'm told it needs a disc for it, where's the best place to get one, ebay?

Thanks in advance.

sunroof could be fuse or it could be siliconed to cure leaks. washers need lights to be switched on before they work (or do on my 200tdi anyway)

as long as your headphones work sod every fooker else.

get a step that bolts to towbar.

buy a tomtom cheaper. and less hassle.

Thanks (I Think).

Lights were on when testing headlight washers, was just wondering if there was a seperate water bottle for them.

Already have a tom tom but thought it would be good to have sat nav working.

Why is the seller not fixing before you part with cash

One bottle feeds all

The ones fitted by Land Rover aren't just headphone sockets, the adjust volume, allow listening to another function whilst the front passengers are listening to another

Ebay, but if the small gas strut is gubbed, its about £50 to replace

And last one for now, radio has sat nav but i'm told it needs a disc for it, where's the best place to get one, ebay?

Hope this helps

I have recently got a 2002 Discovery V8. I have had nothing but grief with the sat nav. I have even spoken to Becker in Holland. They admit its not much good, and are not sure which disk I need ( despite sending serial no. and a photo). Plus its 120 quid. Looking to replace it with the tom tom in dash system. Paul.

on the D2 they only work with every 3rd press of the windscreen washer with the headlights turned on

Headlight washers have their own fuse in the second (underbonnet) fuse box.
That was what was wrong with mine when I collected it.

Incidentally, I have a 'problem' with the central locking and the back door. It takes 3 'goes' to unlock. Drivers door on 1st, rest of the passenger doors on 2nd, Rear door on third. I've read about the two stage thing, and needing to plug it into testbook to switch it off, but the three press thing is not mentioned.

Feature or Fault? How can I turn it off / Fix it.

If you need to press it 3 times to unlock ANY door, then its an early sign of that door lock failing and will soon need replacement.

1 press to unlock driver and 2nd press for the rest is known as 'single point locking', it is a feature, a pain in the ass and one of the first things I turned off. It's configurable in the BCU by the delear, and independant, or anyone with a Hawkeye or Nanocom diagnostic tool
