Hi all, thought I’d introduce myself on here, Mick from Blackpool, currently own a 95 D1 300tdi, had it 8 months or so, we bought it to go off to Morocco in September 25, it’s not in bad shape for a old bus, the previous owner did a bit of welding on it which we’ve had to rip out and start again , but , worth it in the long run. It owes us a few quid now, but , it’s good for another decade.
We took rear seats out to for the box build and we’ve fitted the bigger alternator and second battery for the extra electrics.
I’ll stick some pics up when it comes back from welding.

We have been out in wales exploring, and up in Scotland camping and it’s very capable.

Very very happy with it!

Welcome.
We all like to see conversion/motor photos.
Once the welding has been done just keep an eye round the motor & all will be trouble free.

Enjoy the exploring

The engines had is belts changed, and I’ve fitted the header tank alarm , first thing I did , found it on eBay , cap with a float on and a alarm that sounds in the cab when it drops.

Air con was removed by the last owner, I want to put that back on, and I want some decent tyres, I took the insa’s off the first week and some temp tyres on, while those are probably good off road, on the road, truly awful , and terrifying in the wet, so got my eye on either Maxxis or the kenda AT , both have good reviews and recommendations.

As for the welding, someone hid some holes with filler and under seal.. so, simple patch has turned into both outer sills and rear arches.. it is what it is , grateful my mates a Land Rover guy and this is a regular thing he does.

Pics will be updated soon as it back and it’s pretty much there.
