hi matey , best option if not the cheapest is an old fashioned re-core ,new ali rads are ok but i seem to have to replace them because of minor leaks only a few years later

Last time I checked with my local place (which I have used several times over the past 20+ years) a re-core was more expensive than a new copper / brass radiator.
Personally I dislike the modern alloy / plastic ones and bought a Bearmach 300TDi copper / brass item instead. Cost only 30% more and looked to be as well made as the genuine one it replaced.

Thanks Guys,
Can't decide at mo, Are copper ones better than aluminium?
Hi James, are you keeping, Just removed the wing ready for the big repair!!
Tax runs out end of Dec so the wife's car will be relegated to the road so Monty (110 CSW) can keep the driveway company while I get round to the task of straightening the chassis with new radius arm mount new axle and anything else I find - Like for instance the the bracket welded to the bulkhead for the two screws for the inner wing. Its hanging by a thread :(

seem to last much longer

I fitted one to my old disco last year, was pretty good I seem to remember, will be fitting one to my defender when the current one finally gives up the ghost.
mind you I'm liking the poor cooling from the main rad at the moment more heat to the heater matrix, cheaper thana muff
