Just read through a couple of old threads about fitting 255/55/19's to a P38 and they mentioned potential MOT failure with these on so 2 years on can i ask has there been any reported MOT failures because of the tyre size?

dont see any reason why they should fail the mot if fitted with spigot rings and the correct bolts (l322 wheels need these)plenty of people have fitted bigger just make sure the tyres aint bald:D.your not getting confused with the suposed new mot type aproval changes that are rumoured to be being brought in are you?

thanks......it was mentioned on an old thread on here about possible MOT failure, i think it was linked to the fact there was slight rubbing on the arches when in access height with 55 profile.

I'm dithering with which wheels to buy but have seen a few Land/Range Rover Take Offs going for about 750 with new tyres in this size, but wanted to be sure either way.

no they are all genuine that I'm looking at. By Take Offs i understand its a dealer term for wheel/tyre sets that are removed from cars because the customer wants to upgrade, so the take offs have only a few delivery miles on them. There are quite a few sets on ebay etc.

Cheers will give Emmots a bell also.

So you don't think there are any issues with MOT's/insurance with the 55 profile on 19" as long as spigots and new nuts are used.
