Hi,

Mine is now narrowed down to the rear left wheel side, I'm going to change all the bushes first then the wheel bearing then the driveshaft.
It sounds like the exhaust is hitting underneath although its not cos I can't find anything loose.
For the knock on yours, have you checked your diff bushes, it's common for the front one to go and cause the nose of the diff to knock underneath the car:confused:

Right i think i've now found me problem.
I was underneath about to put prop n vcu back on and I noticed rear offside driveshaft diff seal is now leaking a bit, rechecked the play on the driveshaft and theres now a lot more compared to the nearside and it makes a slight clunk when moved about.....the near side one is near silent in comparison.
The mad thing is when you get it to clunk and your sat inside the car.....it sounds like its coming from the nearside wheel area not the offside.
I'm going to go and search for a good 2nd hand one off fleabay or a breakers cos new theyre mega bucks new and although you can get a outer cv kit nobody seems to do an inner one.

Anyway happy days, hopefully i'll have a nice quiet hippo again by next week + I get to justify the cost of my new torque wrench I got last week for doing the driveshaft nuts up to the correct torque:D:D:D:D
