so basically woteva the fault the gearbox and engine are gonna hav to be split. :( well i kinda thort tht anyway but still doesnt make it any better

haha think im gonna hav to split the to, redo the clutch plates and check the bearing. and if tht doesnt fix it im gonna get a couple of cans of diesel and torch the f**kin thing!! :D

i think its cos id overtightened the clutch plate bolts. nt sure yet. struggling to get the gearbox back on! cant get it the last inch or so! pretty sure wasnt a hydraulic problem as could hear stuff moving inside bellhousing so was moving sumthin.

hope for your sake its that, i can't see it myself, the pressure plate tightens down onto the flywheel, overtighten the bolts and they will snap, you can't lock the clutch plate in place with the nuts because the action of the release bearing pushing on the pressure plate prongs releases it, so mhave you loosened the bolts? i hope not otherwise the whole thing will fall to bits inside the bell housing.

took it off and started again and made sure i did it up to correct torque. was definatly somthing moving in the bellhousing. could hear it. made sure relsease bearing was in the rite place as well
