2 new cv joint blown up

Anybody ever heard of this happen, got 2 new cv joints and when landy got reversed off the ramp 1 blew up so ordered another 1 and that did the same when took off the ramp, they cost £60 each and i have bought 3 now, am sick, just bought the truck and payed fair bit and now this is happining, anybody else had this happen, so put 1 of the old cv joints on the side that was blowing up and now it seems fine, for now anyway, its making me want to get rid, whats the score with these cv joints, any tips

what make were they

Ah take it they were packed wi' grease?

not sure what make they were i will find out in the morning i got them from parco parts, ye they had plenty grease on them, is it bad to put alot of grease on them.

Not really, the ones ah got came wi' a sachet o' grease and ah just bunged it in...

its doing my head in, i really want to keep it but am para icase the joint starts clicking again

If it goes again, jut put it into diff lock to get you home. Sounds like a dodgy set to me - have you talked to the people you got them from?

Britpart is a false economy (assuming that's what they were of course )

One of mine collapsed and I just replaced both (With Busters great advice!), got the kit from Paddocks. £70 all in for both.

i did try and replace both 1 held on right side and 2 new 1s blew on left side so had to put one of the old ones back on and it seems to be holding for now, am starting to think i need the genuine cv joints from landrover and they cost fortune, And heres me thinking if i got landy my troubles would be over at least i had go on the other 4X4 i have had, this truck is turning into total nightmare, has this ever happend to anyone when replaced with new joint.

could this be fault with my landy

how old is your landy though? Have the genuine ones lasted from new? they've gotta be worth the money. perhaps you can get 2nd hand genuine ones? I'd rather buy them than buy a lesser quality.

the landy is 03 plate with 64 thousand miles, i would say both were genuine cv joints, just want to get out in it.

They'll be made by AMK. Ah spoke tae one o' they guys that works for partco earlier

Just curious... did ye stick the wee circlip thing and collar on that fits on the shaft and into the cv?
