yer best bet is the carb off an old sierra a webber 32/36 DGAVV theyre endlessly easy to tune up and mess with and so simple any bugger can suss them out

as i did when i rebuilt my tratter exept i stamped the chassis number behind the door locks on all doors on the back lip of the seatbox under the rear wheelarch on the rear tub the under edge of the roof gutter the top edge of the windscreen frame and the bulkhead behind the main dash pannel...

if its a webber 32 36 DGAV twin choke carb itll be where the fuel line goes into the carb it has a tiny filter in there and a return pipe on the opposing side and a brass nut / bung on the top ....chances are its the fibre washer under that nut just letting a tiny bit of air in allowing the fuel...

just go to the scrappers and get the boot lid seal off an old mondeo or escrot or something itll cost pennies and use an old door seal for the sides of the bonnet and self adhiesive draft proof strip from wilkos on the top of the grille pannel

typical of an ex MOD series to require a member of time team to get the brakes working :D:D:D:D

if your doing this with the head off it shows dividence to check the primary combustion caps for damage such as being burned to a crisp or cracked round the ports
if they are replace them and get the head skimmed ( youll be amased at the difference it makes to the engine running )

could verry well be a break in the wire where it goes towards the bulkhead past the manifolds ( the heat makes the wires brittle )

fer gods sake i cannot believe that any garage or dealership could let anything be sold in that state
when i bought me series i bought it as scrap fully knowing it was either me or the crusher but still it was in a safer condition than that
and now im selling the series on and heres me...
