we looked at P38s but decided on the L322 as as far as we can tell noone in thr UK has done this before but we have heared of bobtailed P38s.
also we are much more familiure with the L322 bots its mechanics and electrics.
a winch probably in the future but that's a few steps away yet, 1st shorten the rear to improve exit angle.2nd possibly shorten the front by relocating radiator etc into the rear to make tyres basically the front and rear most points.

it is the front recovery strap, for towing if we get stuck. we are in the habbit of attaching it at the start of the day so when it is needed it is allready inplace.

Sorry for the late reply, looks like I got lucky and a change of gearbox oil etc sorted it, given the amount of metal powder in the oil we drained out I got very lucky and a replacment gearbox is on the cards soon.
My 2005 TD6 auto, i put it through a carwash and a mile down the road lost drive it felt like a slopping clutch as in engine revs had no effect.
I tried in D and R and in Manual mode also in Low range.
All had the same result.
