Hello all.
It's probably been covered before, but i took some pictures when changing my front speakers, and thought I would share.
I bought a set of 13cm Pioneers of Ebay. Similar to these.
They have a mounting depth of less then 50mm, which means they will not interfere with the window. (according to this thread, thats the magic depth)
Remove doorcard, easy enough, a couple of screws and your there.
Remove speaker, 4 screws.
I choose to destroy the old speaker to save me the time of making a new mounting bracket.
Simply peel away the old speaker, and I used a saw to remove the whole back of the original speaker.
I then cut the mounting "things" (don't know the English word for it) away, to make them fit into the original speaker mountings.
Before:
After:
Cut the original wire, and use the spade connetors that is supplyed with the speakerset to wire them up.
Refit :
Finished:
As I said before, It's probably been covered before, but hey, one more thread for people that search for a speaker replacement in their Freelander.
