so decided to finally do a write up of my 300tdi, still not finished (are they ever) but shes come a long way and changed alot since i got her.
Bought her back in Nov 2011 with 101k and 1 careful owner from new. (this soon changed) ****none of this is really in any order so sorry****
(few naff fotos as lost a HDD booo)

1st thing was to get rid of the advertisement in the back windows

then the mods began most of which have changed
front tubular winch bumper which laster about 4 months as i didnt like the look

id also painted up some alloys i had reather than the nasty steels.
then had decided to fabricate a roof rack / light bar which worked brilliantly for tree defence aswell which i will be fabricating again for part of roll cage.,

Also needed some chunky tyres for off roading which needed camel cut as they were a tad big for standard

i did try to get along with the tubular bumper by modifying the old bumper ends, (still didnt like it)

Managed to source a low profile front bumper cheaply on the evil bay (where most of my bits come from) and sold the tubular, also picked up a cheap winch from somebody on here which needed some tlc but got it sorted.

there was a stint where i went through bearings fastwer than i go through socks.. so ended up buying all new bearings and shafts etc

Bearings pick the best times to go grr

Time for some rot finding so first to go was the sills

this was to be my 1st ever big welding task with supervision from an uncle whos failry good shall we say

i then decided that the plough on the back had to go, and in doing so found my back bumper to be scrap metal or what was left anyway so abit of tinkering and i made a new one (iv got another since) which will be seen

time for a colour change -

new fuel tank home in the boot

new tank means new filler cap so mocking one up

body lift means i needed to raise the bumpers (Daft foto pic)

so back one i made again

decided to make it easier to weld the rear winch tray in

front light guards fitted, new front winch with synth rope snorkle

after killing both gear box and transfer box i sourced a nice 1.4 ratio box and replaced all the seals etc before fitting

gear box change made easy - engine out also means i can weld up the inner arches, problem being i cant get car out from under engine...so time to improvise

problem then....no engine to move car into garage, so time to o some shunting

only just fits in too :S

most recent is a new suspension set up which includes trailing arms, wide angle props +5" brake lines 15" rear shocks (or 18 cant remember) and 12" front shocks.

against TF medium 2" shock (front)

rear seats are out and tank is getting moved forward and covered incase of a roll over split pipe etc.. and to also allow for rear shock mount to come in.

pikey tw@s broke side sindow to get to sat nav in car which showed the runners were knackeded so these were replaced too

randomly parked at work

so as she stands for now

things still on the list are to sort all the wiring out and put in new guages
finish off the boot with some storage in
roll cage mainly internay with a few extarnal parts to protect the body abit
tree sliders
bead lockers
ARB front and rear (when funds allow)
