Had to brake sharpish this afternoon and the fookin thing nearly stuffed me into the nearside hedge.
Had a quick look underneath and the front offside brake disc is covered in swivel grease. It's coming out from behind (inboard) of the brake disc - there's none in the hub cap or around the drive member.

Took it all apart today.

It doesn't look like gasket failure to me.
My theory is that the seal inside the stub axle has gone, allowing the grease to travel inside the stub axle to the drive member, then back along the outside of the stub axle to exit through the inner hub-bearing seal, which had been fitted back to front.
Does that sound possible?
Here's the inner hub-bearing seal cleaned up (looking from the inboard side). That seal is back to front isn't it?

looks like it to me, Trewy. bit of a bugger to get out now, coz yu cant get to the lip easily.

how long has that been like that - coz dint you rebuilt you axle not long ago?

Yes, I was the numpty that fitted the hub seal back-to-front and didn't change the inner stub-axle seal.

Better check the other side next!
