a bit of a shock.....

.....has fallen off

these bumpy roads have seen the end of the shocks and springs i think

couldnt seem to get it high enough on jacks so lifted it with me tractor

lots easier

then as per usual the spring cups had rotted away and the axle brackets, i made a new set of them ( no pics sorry)

so off to throw me wallet thru craddocks door

then the front, same again, rotted cups etc

lots better now, even sits level

just the steering damper to swap and the poly bushes to do, might sandblast and powder coat the radius arms yellow to match.

its off the road again next month so i can re spray it, started looking tatty now,

you got your defender laying on its side? be nice if you had normal pics so we wouldn't have to turn the computer screen 90 degrees . Them shock look older than you

considering it works hard fer 6 1/2 days a week towing diggers and trailers full over farms and building sites they aint done too bad really, shocks wer buggered but springs still had bit of life, been on 20 years , they musta been good'uns in ther day

everyone allways slags bp stuff but ive found them springs shocks very good , like your tractor and lifting arm

yup, i got a set last year for a customer and fitted them , i was impressed with them , so i got a set for mine shortly after, but like usual, it took me 12 months to get them on , yes, originaly i made the tractor crane to lift builders tonne bags of sticks out of my trailers , but its come in for a lot really, its a brilliant engine hoist

ther cheap enough if yer look around, somethin in rough but running condition , usualy petrol / tvo, ted20 (grey fergy) will be £750 ish, a diesel adds value, a mf35 diesel will take you to 2 grand fer a good'un , the best are nackered and take you 12 months to restore then you apreciate them a lot more and kno them inside out too

would love a 35 but a gudun wil cost double that over here.

id like a 35 with a loader next and rear 3point forlkift, iv got a mcconnell 45 backhoe, am just after a heavier tractor to use with it, not sure if the t20 will take the grunt

I nearly brought and still want a Ford County 4000 Four. Got a MF135 at work that is on the project list, they are now the desirable classic so 35s have stabilized in price. If you know where to look there are loads of MF135's in farm yards with knackered clutches and rotted wings being ex scraper tractors. But why not go Ford 4000 or 4600, bigger, better tractor at the same money?

fine tractors them fords and UK made

Had and still have a 6000 ford tough as nails it is with loader.

a bit poor on the hydraulics though compared to mf,we used to have a 7000 used to suck straw ash in to the rad and you had to keep stopping to clear it

You won't dig much, you will pull your tractor around with it.

never had problems with they hydraulics, got a 1yd bucket on the front, 16.9 38's on the back with 1200lbs chloride water in each tyre for ballast/traction
