Hi folks.

I'm trying to get some dash set up ideas for all the switches and dial mods that can be neatly done in my 90.

Looking for mounting positions and comments as good and bad as to why there done the way they are or what you would change now its done and why??

I have done a search through the gallery section but am wondering what else is out there so, common, show em off and give me some inspiration.

Thanks.

You have these options really

Rdx dash console available on eBay or bolt on bits which are like centre consoles £30-40

Mud dash console from mud.com which fit the same but blend in a bit better £50-70

Mud or spirit 4x4 roof console more expensive but good for cb as less wiring about for aerial £70-120

Standard dash pod. Look very bolt on and temporary but cheap £20-

Or you can adapt the clock panel and remove clock and put an array in its place.

I have got one of these:

Its quite good, keeps everything together and all the wiring good

Yeah spose. Just looks really bolt on and doesn't match in at all but if it floats ya boat

I perswonally prefer the raptors as it gives you more room for various bits and bobs, stereo, CB, dials and switches (all of which are used on mine bofore anyone mentions it). BUT, for road use I would agree, the others look better, mines an off roading mud whore though so need the extra bits...

Ive just received one of these which i won for £30 on a last min bid and looks similar to what you have Jon:
Landrover Defender Dash Panel | eBay

Not sure what it all fits like yet as only just received in post and i'm wondering what i'm going to use to cut out the radio slot etc.

If i don't like it i'll get something else but was a last min ebay fling lol.

Don't even have a radio yet so need to sort that aswell.

Is that a push start switch for landy on your consol Jon.. and do you usew it as such with or without key ??

Looks like someone is knocking out raptor dash copies. let us know how it fits. :D

The good thing about a blank one is you get to sort the spacing and the layout yourself. Hope it works out for you.

This is my actual one, its a genuine raptor dash but to be honest that one you got looks just as good and like BGB says you can cut your own holes for it (I still got to wire 2 gauges up as I have been lazy and not done it yet)

Still not offered this up to dash yet to see how it fits but the only comment i would have about the one i picked up is that it would have been nice if the maker had rounded the corners rather than leaving as box cornered, and would have been much better if the screw holes to fit the face plate to the frame had have been pre drilled. Also the screws that came with it arn't stainless.
All little things which make a big difference.
I would also have supplied these with 3 typical set up cut out templates which the buyer could use.
To be quite honest i might know someone that can make these up and brought this with a view to seeing what he says.

Yes but you got it alot cheaper than a raptor dash dude! they've got to be £70 or summit by now for a genuine one.

Also just get some emery cloth on the edges, line up the front panel and then drill(measure twice - drill once) and the hole diameter will be 52mm for the aux gauges.

You could put some thin piano hinge on the top maybe and then put some little clips on the bottom panel, this might provide easier access than undoing 12 screws like my raptor needs. :D

Just an idea mind

nice idea, will give that some serious head time.
Will probably end up fitting the gauges (when i get them) and wiring up god knows when.
Still fighting to many other issues on her at moment.
Getting there though.
