l322 driver door wont open need help !!

hi , i have a problem and need help , my 2003 drives door wont open from the inside or out ? i got in in tonight moved it off the drive went to get back in it and the door would not open so i locked and unlocked it but still no luck . you can hear the locking motor working in the door when u lock and unlock and the button goes up and down !. i dont know how the set up works inside the door but i would of thought that either the inside or outside handel would of opened it but both dont !. so now im really stuck as i cant get in and i would of thought it will be a hard job to get door card off with door shut ,......any ideas ......kind regards mark

is it from the cold? i.e frozen up or is it defective?

have a look in rave, there will be a diagrm of the door mech. it could be one of the linkages thats come off

anybody managed to find a fix for this

Its happened on mine last week, took 15 mins to fix, the handles both inside and externally are operated on a cable system and the cable popped out of the locator on the inside of the external door handle (does that make sense?!). Its a case of unscrewing the door card which is held by 2 or 3 visible tork bits, one near the internal door pull, one in the door pocket and one under the airbag badge at the top rear of the panel.

The door is held on by clips otherwise and they just pop off. The door membrane just needs peeling back a bit in the top corner near the door knob and the cable should be visible from there. When mine went it was just the external handle that didnt work so if its anything else it might be the cable that has snapped of that the lock is faulty.

I've got to take mine back off as there was a 'spare' wire when putting the door panel back on and now my passenger side mirror doesnt fold or auto dip....doh
